HootSuite Adds Private Enterprise Social Network Yammer to App Directory

Vancouver’s HootSuite has added private enterprise social network Yammer to its continually expanding App Directory. The addition will allow users to monitor and reply to Yammer conversations within HootSuite’s social media management dashboard.

The Canadian startup says that users will be able to view home, company, conversations, group, and private message feeds. They will also be able to reply and post updates (with attachments!) to feeds. And they will be able to search in their networks and groups for specific contents. HootSuite says that the integration “empowers employees to be more productive, discuss ideas, make decisions faster, and self-organize into teams to take on any business challenge.”

“The integration of Yammer demonstrates the increasing role of social collaboration in business. As companies grow, employees become increasingly decentralized from one another and rely on multiple tools like Yammer to work through and complete projects,” explains Ryan Holmes, the chief executive officer of HootSuite. “Use of social media continues to grow beyond marketing. We see departments including customer service, human resources, sales, public relations and research and development teams are looking to HootSuite for solutions to tackle collaboration problems.”

The HootSuite App Directory increases the functionality of the dashboard to users through tools created by third-party developers. HootSuite is a social media management system for businesses and organizations to collaboratively execute campaigns across multiple social networks from one secure, web-based dashboard.
