Telus Brings TED Talks to Optik TV

Telus announced today that TED is now available on Optik TV.

The Vancouver-based telecommunications giant says a new TED app provides Optik TV customers the opportunity to experience TED’s full library of talks.

“Telus is pleased to be associated with TED, one of the smartest innovation brands in the world today,” said David Fuller, Telus’ Chief Marketing Officer. “Customers want variety with their programming and we are going to feed their natural curiosity with the new TED app on Optik.”

“Having recently announced that TED 2014 ‘The Next Chapter’ is coming to Vancouver, we could not be more excited about partnering with Telus to bring talks to television for Optik users across Canada,” said Deron Triff, TED’s Director of Distribution. “TED Talks on Optik creates an amazing experience to explore new ideas that are shaping the world around us.”

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading.” It’s the most popular lecture series online with 800 million views—quadruple those of the Khan Academy. 150 million users can now stream 1,300 talks on TED’s website and its Facebook page has 2.4 million Likes.
