VEF Momentum is a series of events organized through the Vancouver Enterprise Forum to connect, mentor and inspire young and aspiring technology entrepreneurs. Our quarterly speaker sessions offer a fun and comfortable environment to meet driven, like-minded, young people while at the same time connecting you with some of the most established and successful entrepreneurs and investors in the city.
State of Entrepreneurship is the inaugural speaker event for the Momentum program. The evening will begin with ice-breakers and introductions, followed by a keynote speech with a Q&A session, and closes with some time to mingle over drinks.
The speaker for the evening will be Dr. Geordie Rose, Founder & CTO of D-Wave Systems. He founded D-Wave Systems out of UBC in 1999 and has been instrumental in building D-Wave into a successful Quantum Computing company. Geordie will be discussing his rise as an entrepreneur, founding and building a successful quantum computing company, from establishing a leadership position in his field to raising rounds of financing. He will then go on to discuss Vancouver's transition into a hub for technology entrepreneurs over the past decade, and how young entrepreneurs can use this to their advantage.
