Andre Charland of Nitobi just reminded me that the Adobe On AIR Bus Tour is making a stop in Vancouver tonight. Be sure to check out their site as you can track their route through a map, tweets, numerous blogs and a live video feed.
I’m just on the bus on my way to Vancouver for a really cool event tonight. We’ll talking about developing apps using Ajax and Flex in AIR. Bottom line is there will be some cool demos and all the beer and food is on Adobe:)
The bus rolls up to Ceili’s Irish Pub at 670 Smithe Street at 5:15pm. You can read more about it here and register here. FYI: AIR stands for Adobe Integrated Runtime and is Adobe’s competitor to Microsoft’s .NET and Sun Microsystems Java. In short, it lets you move Web apps onto the desktop and out of the browser. It’s not a big surprise that Andre got an invite to the On AIR roadtrip. ‘Captain Ajax‘ was an early proponent of the building blocks of Ajax, the leading technology for web application development and has spoken widely on Ajax, blogging, and web usability.
