Edmonton’s Nexopia.com announced today that they have struck a deal with Couch-Tard – Canada’s largest convenience store operator – that will allow their members to buy subscriptions at almost 300 Mac’s convenience store locations across Western Canada. The popular ‘Plus’ subscription gives Nexopia members additional online features, and access to exclusive contests, prizes, and special events.
Smart move by Nexopia – any site targeting an audience where credit cards aren’t the norm needs to give users a way to purchase serivices offline and Mac’s seems like the ideal partner.
Nexopia’s Plus subscription was launched in 2005 and now accounts for almost 40% or the company’s yearly earnings. For five dollars a month, $20 dollars for six months, or $30 per year, members are given exclusive features including: color and customization options, larger picture galleries, the ability to view who has visited their online profile, and the chance to be “spotlighted” on the website’s homepage.
Couche-Tard is the largest convenience store operator in Canada with a network of over 2000 stores in Canada as well as a considerable presence in the US. The stores are primarily operated under the Couche-Tard and Mac’s trademarks in Canada and the Circle K trademark in the US.
