Vancouver-headquarterd Intrinsyc Software announced today that they’ve signed an engineering services agreement with a Fortune 500 company to create a mobile device that runs Google’s open source OS.

“We are very pleased to announce this new agreement,” said David Manuel, Vice President & General Manager, Solutions Engineering, Intrinsyc. “The project validates Intrinsyc’s strategy of expanding services capability and products such as RapidRIL and Telephony Test Suite, for the fast-growing Android software market.”

Elizabeth Rosenbaum, Intrinsyc’s VP of Corporate Marketing, said the deal with a manufacturer that could only be described as a Fortune 500 company would be Intrinsyc’s first with Android. “Unfortunately,” she explaind, “because of the agreement, we’re not able to disclose more than what’s in the press release. We’re not allowed to say who the [contracting] company is or what we’ll be doing.”

Intrinsyc’s Solutions Engineering teams in Vancouver, Taiwan, and China will collaborate with the unnamed company to bring the new mobile device to market.
