HomeStars.com announced today that it has completed a follow-on financing round with participation by Torontoʼs Maple Leaf Angels as well several other angel investors. Back in November 2007, Home Stars Directory Inc. secured financing to fund the development of a new, scalable North American home improvement reviews and ratings website.
“Home improvement companies are rapidly embracing web sites and advertising to connect with prospective homeowners, and consumers are looking for more contextual and relevant information to make renovation and repair decisions” said HomeStars founder and CEO, Nancy Peterson. “Building the HomeStars brand in new cities is the next step in achieving our vision of becoming the leading North American directory with reviews in the home improvement vertical.”
There are more than 30,000 reviews listed on the site in categories ranging from architects to woodworking and the site sees over 160,000 monthly visitors. Funds from today’s round will go towards financing the next stage of HomeStars expansion strategy which includes local marketing programs and the development of content and sales in selected territories.
