Vancouver’s Quickmobile has developed an iPhone app for the PhoCusWright Conference, a large travel summit attended by the world’d travel professionals. It’s now available for download now through the App Store.
According to Patrick Payne, Quickmobile’s Founder and CEO,
The iPhone application not only benefits the attendees with the program guide in their pocket and access to real-time features like What’s On Now, the social networking communities and other people at the event, deliver information that is timely, relevant, personalized and valuable. With real-time event updates, integrated attendee communications, exclusive mobile content and features, location based services for events and entertainment including fully integrated Frommer’s city maps and reviews, these applications will greatly enrich the conference experience.
What does the mobile app do? The app is a digital version of the conference program. It also replaces replaced over 70 pages of content in the hard copy program reducing printing requirements and costs. Interactivity with the speakers and the SpeakOut feature on the app allows for attendees to submit their questions to panelists. Not only that these questions are stored and the app allows you to link your Twitter account. The ultimate objective of the mobile application is to optimize and enrich the conference experience. The question is – how do I best spend my limited time at the event and how do I connect with the people that could make a difference in my business? This application certainly makes it easier to accomplish those goals.
The PhoCusWright Conference will host up to 1,000 of the world Travel & Tourism leaders in Orlando Florida November 17th – 19th 2009. The Travel Innovation Summit represents the next big wave of innovation in the travel industry and the ensuing impact on businesses in the travel industry.
