Shopify acquires the developers of StoreSync

One of our “digital people to watch in Ontario” has recently given us a reason why they were included in this list.  TechCrunch is reporting that Shopify has aquired the makers of StoreSync MNDCreative.  Shopify’s acquisition of MNDCreative allows Shopify  to expand its existing offerings onto mobile devices.

StoreSync extends Shopify’s online store tracking, reporting and management functionality to the Apple ssiPhone with an integrated mobile interface.  StoreSync’s mobile app will allow Shopify users to tap into their online store sales statistics, order processing, shipment status and product and customer information from an iPhone instantly.

Shopify’s web-based platform allows anyone to set up a store in moments, add items to sell, upload images, add tags and group items, and integrate PayPal or other credit card processor for payments. Storefronts and shopping carts can be customized and the platform assures security for all transactions.

This move further secures Shopify as an elite player in not just the e-comerce realm but also in the “new” frontier of digital space: e-comemrce mobile applications.  Shopify users are now wondering if the StoreSync app will be available on the Android and/or BlackBerry devices.
