Flowtown’s Dan Martell connects with Bootup for Vancouver event

Having leapt from his hometown of Moncton, New Brunswick, to the grandeur Silicon Valley – starting a company (Spheric Technologies Inc.), winning awards for it, and then selling it after four years of tremendous growth – Dan Martell knows a thing or two about success and making that jump into the big leagues.

For this reason and more, Dan will head Lean Product Development: Learning is a Killer Feature, hosted by the Bootup Entrepreneurial Society (which is also hosting the upcoming Launch Party Vancouver on the same day).

Dan Martell recently founded Flowtown, a social marketing platform focused on “helping small businesses achieve real results in the world of social media,” according to Dan’s “Self-Aggrandizing Obligatory Bio.” More specifically, Flowtown turns email addresses into a lot more—according to its website, “When all you have is an email address, Flowtown can give you a name, age, gender, occupation, location and all the social networks that person is on.” Aside from Flowtown, Dan is an informal angel investor and “lifelong student.”

The event focuses on the fact that start-ups are plain and simple tough. So, Dan wants to increase the probabilities of succeeding as a startup, and will thusly discuss topics such as customer development, feature prioritization, split testing, product metrics, and agile development.

The event will be held on Thursday, June 17th, from 9:30am to 12:00pm at Clark Wilson LLP’s offices at 885 West Georgia Street. You can register beforehand online or at the door.
