After a long hiatus, Launch Party Vancouver is back tomorrow night just in time to kick off the summer season.
For the ninth edition of Launch Party Vancouver, Bootup Entrepreneurial Society‘s Maura Rodgers and Sonia Ryan have outdone themselves – at least based on the attendee list that is about to break the 500 mark.
There’s no doubt LPV9 has benefited from being marketed as the first C100 Launch Party and a special guest in TechCrunch‘s Michael Arrington. The attendee list reads like the who’s who of the Vancouver tech community, however there are a couple of trends that are worth noting.
For the first time in a long time, the Venture Capital community is well represented at a Vancouver tech event with iNovia Capital‘s Shawn Abbott and Chris Arsenault, Vanedge Capital‘s Divesh Sisodraker, Cascadia Capital‘s Kushal Saha, BC Renaissance Capital Fund‘s Todd Tessier, BDC Venture Capital‘s Kalle Radage and ALTOS Ventures‘ Anthony Lee all in attendance.
In addition to Vancouver’s up and coming entrepreneurs, some of the city’s biggest success stories will be represented with Flickr co-founder Stewart Butterfield (now with Tiny Speck), Plentyoffish‘s Markus Frind, AirG‘s Vince Yen, SitePoint Co-founder Matt Mickiewicz (also 99designs and Flippa), and Super Rewards’ Jason Bailey in the building.
And most importantly, its clear that the Bootup Entrepreneurial Society has piqued the interest of BC’s most important tech associations with DigiBC‘s Michael Bidu, the BC Innovation Council‘s Dean Rockwell, BCTIA‘s Pascal Spothelfer, Vancouver Economic Development Commission‘s Lee Malleau and Vancouver Enterprise Forum Chair David McIntyre registered to attend.
Launch Party Vancouver 9 is tomorrow (June 17th) at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown. Tickets are $40 and include a drink, appetizers, and entertainment. Register online today and scroll through the attendee list to see who you could be meeting tomorrow night.
