Word on the street is that Vancouver cloud computing startup Layerboom Systems has been acquired by Joyent.

Layerboom Systems was co-founded by Trevor Orsztynowicz and Howie Wu and is a Bootup Labs company and part of the CloudXcelerator program at Peer1.

Terms of the transaction have not been announced by either party but this will be the first exit for Bootup Labs and a welcome piece of news considering the fiasco that erupted online in April.

Layerboom provides hosting companies with a comprehensive solution which enables them to build and sell virtual private server clouds. After installing Layerboom software, hosting companies can manage their physical and virtual server inventory, customer accounts, define virtual machine sizes, packages, and pricing, as well as customize our hosted dashboard to maintain consistent branding.

Based in San Francisco with offices worldwide, Joyent is privately held and backed by Greycroft Partners and Intel Capital.

Congrats to Trevor and Howie!
