Bebo traffic figures actually rise; hires Xbox talent

Bebo is a long-troubled social network, acquired in June by Criterion for a mere fraction of the cost that Yahoo paid for it some time ago, in its short-lived prime. But Bebo actually saw a rise in traffic (in the U.K.) and user growth for the first time in a while.

To mark this possible progress, Bebo made some key hirings, including Kevin Bachus, co-creator of Xbox. He will be chief product officer.

Apple allows Adobe Flash in new app reqs

Apple has made one small step to accepting open source concepts, by allowing Adobe Flash and third-party software to develop apps for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. Quoth Apple:

We have listened to our developers and taken much of their feedback to heart. Based on their input, today we are making some important changes to our iOS Developer Program license … to relax some restrictions we put in place earlier this year.

Porno is strictly forbidden still, however.

Extra note: While Apple’s changes were mostly loosening up restrictions, the company said it will reject “useless” apps, or ones that don’t serve any defined purpose. (Come on, Apple—those are the best ones!)
