This Wednesday will see a very special session of VanJS with a very special guest talking about a very special topic — and you’ll want to register soon, because there are only 43 very special seats left for your very special ass.

Former Twitter chief architect Blaine Cook [pictured] will be the man of the hour, and he’ll be talking about how decentralized social networking, the immense capabilities of the webfinger protocol, and why he thinks JavaScript is the language to make it all come together.

As well, Brian LeRoux from Nitobi is going to give a presentation about the PhoneGap mobile framework, and how it can be used to build cross-platform mobile apps.

“Decentralized Social Networking and PhoneGap” is presented by VanJS and takes place on Wednesday, November 17th at 7 p.m. at the SFU Segal Centre, room 1430. You can register for the event here.

VanJS is a bi-monthly meet-up of JavaScript developers in Vancouver — although this session is an extra one. You can find out more about them and their events here.
