The Canadian Financing Forum will be celebrating its 14th anniversary this year. Vancouver will proudly host this year’s Forum at the luxurious Fairmont Hotel on February 10th – but it may feel like the 14th as you fall in love with the fantastic roster of tech companies the Forum has assembled to present.
What is the Canadian Financing Forum?
The Canadian Financing Forum features presentations from the best and most promising Canadian technology companies, with 25 emerging tech companies competing for attention from top tier investors from across Canada and the United States. Focusing on both Information Technology and Cleantech companies, the Canadian Financing Forum matches North American VC and corporate investors with entrepreneurs building world-class technology companies. The Forum is a must-attend event, bringing together the best and brightest from both the entrepreneurial and VC communities.
This year is one of the CFF’s best years for presenters. There is a wide range of IT companies, including Chaordix, DataGardens, IntelliView, SignalSet, and Star Solutions, as well as MingleVerse, Partnerpedia, Userful, and Myotis Wireless Inc. And for cleantech companies, sure to impress are Cooledge Lighting, Exro Technologies, General Fusion, and Sunwell Technologies, as well as Agrisoma, Ostara, and REV – Rapid Electric Vehicles. What about the Keynote speaker?
This year’s keynote speaker is none other than Steve Munford, the chief executive officer of Sophos.
Steve’s association with Sophos began when the Vancouver based company ActiveState was strategically acquired by UK-based anti-virus software firm Sophos in 2003. Steve at that time was the president of ActiveState and after the acquisition assumed the role of President of Sophos for North America. Steve then became COO of the entire company in early 2005 and was subsequently appointed CEO of Sophos globally that same year. In 2010, a majority stake of the company was sold to private equity, in a deal valuing the business at over $800 million.
Sounds cool. So when and where is it?
