If you can’t get to the TV for Super Bowl XLV, Bell’s got you covered. The telecom giant is the first in Canada to offer live mobile coverage of the Super Bowl, through their Mobile TV Sports package.
It’s perhaps the highlight of an exclusive partnership with the NFL that Bell signed in September of 2010. Bell has aired NFL primetime games on smartphones the entire season, and has also aired the NFL Network and NFL Redzone. They also aired the Pro Bowl last week, but… who cares about the Pro Bowl?
Bell’s coverage of the Super Bowl will include pre-game specials: Road to the Playoffs at 1 p.m. EST, followed by the Super Bowl Pre-Game Show at 2 p.m. The Super Bowl begins at 6:30 EST.
Bell’s sports broadcasting rights aren’t limited to the NFL. They also broadcast all the NHL playoffs on mobile devices and feature programming from TSN with their Mobile TV Sports package. The package includes 10 hours of streaming television for $5/month (data usage included).
