North Vancouver-based Rezgo was founded in July of 2007.
Now celebrating its fourth birthday, the innovative startup is reflecting on how far its come. In the past two years alone, Rezgo has generated $41 million in online bookings through its unique cloud-based tour and activity booking system. Over 400,000 passengers have experienced tours and activities as a result of more than 200,000 bookings with the 1,600-plus companies signed up with Rezgo. Representing 86 countries and 80 currencies, Rezgo has become quite the four-year old.
“We are primarily an export software business,” explains says Stephen Joyce, CEO of Rezgo. “We build technology locally in North Vancouver with a core team of passionate developers and we sell it to businesses all over the World. Our goal of developing a strong focused product and providing quality customer support is helping us to build a global brand.”
Stephen says that Rezgo has “also invested heavily in educating the travel industry about the value of the tour and activity segment. This culminated, most recently, with the release of the PhoCusWright report which Rezgo helped sponsor. That report estimated the in-destination tour and activity segment to be worth over US $27 Billion.”
The online booking space is a crowded one, but what makes Rezgo different, Stephen says, is “that Rezgo is designed specifically for the needs of tour and activity businesses. The business of running a river rafting company or a sightseeing tour is fundamentally different than running a bed & breakfast or a campground. We don’t try to do everything: we just focus on what we do best and that is serving the tour and activity market.”
The number one key for Rezgo’s success streak to continue is for operators to adopt the platform. “We are fully aware that we will need to continue to help educate operators in order to get them to adopt tools like Rezgo,” Stephen affirms. “It is what we have done all along and we’ll continue to do it because it’s important. We are excited to be working with so many dynamic and interesting small businesses and we are honored that they continue to place their trust in Rezgo.”
