Saskatchewan wireless provider SaskTel has expanded its 4G network to a dozen new locations, including Cigar Lake, Cut Knife, Yellow Quill, and Mildred.
Coverage on the campus of Saskatoon University has also been enhanced.
The move comes ahead of the launch of some upcoming 4G phones, namely the Android-powered Galaxy S II and RIM’s BlackBerry Bold Touch (or 9900). It’s unknow whether the next iPhone, expected to launch within a couple months, will be 4G compatible, but if so SaskTel is armed and ready. It remains one of the only smaller wireless carriers to sell Apple’s smartphone.
