Toronto’s Hipsell is one of the fifteen startups that has been selected and may be one of four chosen to pitch live on stage at the GROW Conference on August 18th.
Hipsell is a local, mobile marketplace that runs on smartphones and the web. The app focuses on delivering a “completely rethought and streamlined buying and selling experience.”
It’s about selling your stuff simply and quickly, and buying others’ stuff in the same manner. Sellers post items and can then message with potential buyers, create a public FAQ, and have their items crossposted to other services (Craigslist and Kijiji) for more exposure—”no more hassle,” Hipsell says. And for buyers, you can browse options based on your location and see availability, the current highest offer, seller information, etc. Real-time messaging makes it easy to communicate a deal instantly.
The Hipsell app will be launching for the iPhone and Android.
