It been one week since the GROW 2011 Conference took over Vancouver. The city was abuzz as Canada’s smartest entrepreneurs descended on the city along with venture capitalists from across Canada and south of the border.
Techvibes was there with Knowlton Thomas live-blogging all the sessions and Michelle Sklar conducting lobby interviews for Techvibes TV. Throughout the day Techvibes recorded 30+ interviews with both event speakers and select Canadian entrepreneurs.
Our first interview was with conference host and moderator Howard Lindzon of StockTwits. Check it out and you’ll see why Lindzon had the packed crowd laughing outloud during his opening remarks and almost every time he took the stage.
Lindzon is co-founder and CEO of StockTwits – a social network for traders and investors to share real-time ideas and information. StockTwits was recently named “one of the top 10 most innovative companies in web” by FastCompany and one of the “50 best websites” by Time magazine.
Lindzon has more than twenty years experience in the financial community acting in both an entrepreneurial and investing capacity. He is the Managing Partner of Social Leverage, a holding company that invests in early stage web businesses. He created Wallstrip which was purchased by CBS Corp. in 2007. He is an active angel with many successful angel investments.
