Earlier this month Techvibes reported that Tyler Lessard had left his position at Research in Motion as vice president for global alliances and developer relations. According to RIM Lessard was “moving on to pursue other interests”.

Turns out those other interests were in Toronto.

Fixmo today announced the appointment of Lessard as Chief Marketing Officer.

Lessard will lead Fixmo’s marketing and product strategy for the company’s growing roster of solutions that manage the risk associated with the mobile workforce including the company’s flagship Fixmo Sentinel and the recently released Fixmo SafeZone.

Fixmo announced in June that it had raised a $6.5 million Series B round led by new investor Panorama Capital. Existing investors Rho Ventures Canada, iNovia Capital, Extreme Venture Partners and management also participated in the Series B round.
