Can you guess what people got for Christmas?
Android and iOS smartphones and tablets—by the truckload. Research from analytics agency Flurry revealed that a staggering 6.8 million Android and iOS devices were activated on Christmas Day alone, an insane 353% more than on the average day in December (1.5 million). It was also incredible growth from last year: Christmas Day in 2010 saw 2.8 million activations.
And with activations comes app downloads, of course. Over 240 million apps were downloaded on Christmas Day on Android and iOS devices, up 125% from the December daily average. Truly some remarkable numbers; it’s difficult to deny that mobile isn’t the future at this point.
