This week Waterloo startup BufferBox will launch the first parcel delivery kiosk service in Canada. The full day launch event will take place on January 12th in the Student Life Center at the University of Waterloo.
Founded by three uWaterloo Mechatronics Engineering graduates as their final culminating Fourth Year Design Project, the BufferBox was created to alleviate a common frustration among students, failed parcel deliveries.
This first BufferBox deployment at uWaterloo will provide students, staff, and faculty a secure, convenient way to receive their parcels on campus 24/7 using our automated kiosk.
In 2011, BufferBox received the Innovation Award at the Queen’s Entrepreneurs’ Competition (QEC), won the Waterloo Nicol Entrepreneurial Award, and won Best Overall Design at the 2011 Mechatronics Engineering Design Symposium at uWaterloo. Check out a demo after the jump.
