Toronto-based web startup 49st Technologies has launched 49st.com, a social network for events. Based on the belief that “more and more people expect websites to provide them with a personalized and social experience,” 49st wants to engulf the events space in a “compelling social experience.”
The startup, founded in 2009, says that no site currently does this for events. Through the new 49st, though, people can “experience the power” of social networking for events. The platform customizes user experiences based on their interest, delivering personalized information for public events, sport events, nightlife activities, and everything else based on user preferences.
After using it enough, 49st starts to do the work for you, helping you find events you may like based on your history with the social network. The idea is that you discover. You can see the startup pitch itself in the video below.
