Vancouver-born location-based mobile app Echoecho raised $750K in seed funding from Google Ventures last fall. Now the startup calls Los Angeles home.

Echoecho gives you a quick and easy way to find a friend, family member or colleague and help them find you. The app works anywhere in the world across multiple platforms including Android, iOS, Blackberry, and Nokia.

Like every other mobile app in North America, they’re announcing news this week at SXSW in Austin with the release of Version 4 of Echoecho.me. While this announcement will likely get lost in the noise that is SXSW, their new video spots featuring Vancouver actors Colin Cunningham and Dominika Wolski may help them cut through it. Check out “But I’m the Mayor.”

You may also what to check out “Crazy Director” and its out-takes (warning: NSFW).
