One of the world’s largest and most influential newspapers, The New York Times has pulled its app from Resarch In Motion’s BlackBerry App World, according to its own website.
The NYT is keeping its mobile app available on both Apple’s App Store for iOS and Google’s Play Store for Android. However, BlackBerry users will be forced to access the paper’s content via its mobile site.
In the US, where the vast majority of NYT’s readership lies, BlackBerry consumer sales fell 47% last year. Its marketshare currently sits at about 12% in America, down significantly from last year.
