RIM: We’re Making it as Easy as Possible for Developers to Bring Apps to BlackBerry 10

Research In Motion has stated that software development kit maker Marmalade is going to offer licences to mobile app developers to bring their apps to the upcoming BlackBerry 10 smartphones and tablets it plans to release early next year.

According to RIM, the offer should add “thousands” of new apps to the BB10 library. Apple’s App Store currently has more than 700,000 apps.

“Together with Marmalade, we’re working to make it as easy as possible for mobile developers to bring their apps to the BlackBerry platform,” said Alec Saunders, a vice president at RIM.

Yesterday, RIM inked a patent licensing agreement with Microsoft.
