Today, Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter announced that the province is investing $10 million in BlackBerry over the next five years.

“BlackBerry has been a solid employer in Nova Scotia for nearly a decade, providing hundreds of good jobs for Nova Scotia families,” explained Premier Darrell Dexter. “BlackBerry could have picked another place to bring its jobs and to establish a Centre of Excellence, but they feel the energy, enthusiasm and expertise in Nova Scotia.”

BlackBerry plans to employe 400 people or more annually in the province. These employees will have an average salary of $60,000 or higher. BlackBerry will also invest $4 million annually in a BlackBerry 10 Centre for Excellence.
