Good things grow in Canada’s bedroom communities. Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Canada recently launched Community Scout, a specialty search app for the iPhone and iPad. It includes over 2,000 communities and 465,000 points of interest across Canada.
The free app, which comes in conjunction with web-based companion Lifestyle Search, allows Canadians to make the best decision on the community they purchase a home in.
“We recognized the gap in the market for a consumer-focused tool that would serve that purpose and developed Community Scout, as well as the web-based Lifestyle Search in response to the demand,” said Rob Vanden Broek, President of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. “With informative infographics and in-depth neighbourhood insight, it allows consumers to dig deeper to find their desired neighbourhood in a simple and effective way – through a mobile device or our website.”
Community Scout and Lifestyle Search are the first technology of its type offered by any real estate company in Canada. Home buyers can search by neighbourhood and amenities and get a more detailed look at community assets. Those include banks, restaurants, schools, parks, grocery stores, population, employment rates and more. Potential home buyers can further compare neighbourhoods by home prices, levels of home ownership, and most popular age group.
