Apple has been named the “World’s Most Admired Company” for the sixth year in a row.

In general, technology companies ruled the annual Fortune list. Four made the top 10: Google ranked second, Amazon ranked third, and IBM ranked sixth.

The list scores companies based in nine categories: Innovation, People management, Use of corporate assets, Social responsibility, Quality of management, Financial soundness, Long-term investment, Quality of products/services, and Global competitiveness. Apple placed first in all nine categories, as judged by a large-scale poll of corporate executives, directors, and industry analysts.

Despite a slumping stock, Apple posted $13 billion in net income last quarter, which made it the most profitable company in the world. Apple’s flagship product, the iPhone, is both the world’s best selling smartphone (the iPhone 5) and the world’s second best selling smartphone (the 4S).

Samsung, considered to be one of Apple’s main competitors, ranked 35th.
