Thalmic Labs attributes its rapid growth and success to the thriving and emerging technology hub in the Kitchener-Waterloo region and expects to have more than 50 employees by the end of 2013.

In June 2013 Thalmic Labs raised $14.5 million, the largest Series A round raised by any startup after going through Silicon Valley’s Y Combinator program.
