Today Vancouver’s Fit Brains officially launched its first app for children, Fit Brains: Sparky’s Adventures.
Following the success of the Fit Brains Trainer app that reached #1 in the iTunes education channel with more than 3.5 million downloads in the first 8 months, the company has expanded to the children’s cognitive training genre.
The Fit Brains: Sparky’s Adventures app for iPhone and iPad provides more than 200 training sessions developed for toddlers and young children, customized by level, for an optimal entertaining and brain strengthening experience.
The unique trainer for kids provides a comprehensive approach to stimulating the five key areas of the brain: memory, concentration, visual, speed, and problem solving. Kids are led through the educational games by Sparky the firefly, a whimsical character who appears throughout. The app is also built with a parents panel so caregivers can see how the child is performing and progressing, and how he is scoring compared to other children of the same age.
Michael Cole, CEO of Fit Brains, said, “Due to the overwhelming success of the Fit Brains Trainer, that reached #1 in the education channel in more than 90 countries around the world, and has been the highest rated trainer on iTunes with 4.5/5 stars by more than 40,000 reviewers, we looked into additional ways to expand our training to the entire family.” Cole also added, “We saw the lack of a comprehensive brain trainer for young children, and heard from many of our fans that they wanted a Fit Brains app geared toward their kids. It was here that Fit Brains: Sparky’s Adventures was born.”
Fit Brains: Sparky’s Adventures app is free to download and includes complimentary training sessions. The app is available in the Apple iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Launched in 2008, Fit Brains has had more than 150 million brain training sessions to date. Fit Brains is up against Goliath Lumosity in the brain fitness category but they are making ground thanks to their mobile-first strategy.
