Edmonton’s Poppy Barley is taking another page out of Indochino’s growth hacking notebook with Popup Shops across Alberta this month.

The made-to-measure footwear startup is going on a mini-tour of Alberta with stops in Calgary this week followed by Fort MacMurray and Edmonton later this month.

Poppy Barley is fusing tradition and technology to create luxury, handcrafted boots and shoes at an attainable price point. Pushing the boundaries of the conventional footwear industry, Poppy Barley plans to revolutionize the way women buy footwear with their bespoke boots and custom flats.

Like Vancouver-based custom menswear startup Indochino, Poppy Barley has been providing prospective customers with free measuring tapes and material swatches. But self-measurement isn’t for everyone and Poppy Barley hopes that the popup shops can speed up the customer acquisition process.
