For those wondering, the name “shnarped” comes from a rummy-like card game played by pro-hockey players on buses and planes during road trips.

Shnarped Hockey was founded in Vancouver in June of 2012 by ex-professional hockey players Sproat and Hagel, and their partner Kamil Sikorski.
