atVenu has been selected by SXSW to manage all official merchandise sales at this year’s South By Southwest conference.
Launched in January 2013, atVenu facilitates artist merchandise sales at live events, automates venue splits, forecasts product needs, and provides real time inventory management analytics. Two weeks ago atVenu announced the closing of $1.1 million of venture capital financing led by Montreal’s Real Ventures.
From March 3 to March 16, tens of thousands of people will descend upon Austin, Texas to explore the future of education, film, music, and interactive technologies. As these attendees visit the official SXSW merchandise stands, atVenu will be under the hood driving inventory management, nightly settlements, and sales reporting for the global audience.
Through its platform, atVenu facilitates merchandise sales at live events, automates venue splits, forecasts product needs, provides inventory management analytics, and much more. atVenu was cofounded by label owner and artist manager Ben Brannen, serial tech entrepreneur Derek Ball, and tech startup veteran CTO James Seigel.
”One of the great things about working with a world class event like SXSW is that it shows atVenu can deliver for the live event business as a whole and is not limited to just the music industry,” said Brannen. “We’re excited to explore new client relationships that develop out of our work with SXSW.”
While headquatered in Silicon Valley, Ball is a Canadian entrepreneur and the majority of their team work out of Calgary.
In addition to conferences, atVenu currently powers live event merchandise for over 600 artists around the globe with over 13,000 settled shows and more than $60 million in processed merchandise sales to date.
