Vancouver headquartered startup ShareDesk announced today that they have closed a $1.1 million seed round led by Tim Draper.

The “Airbnb for flexible workplaces” also announced the launch of its enterprise solution, ShareDesk Optix. ShareDesk Optix makes managing a flexible office seamless, mobile, and real-time.

ShareDesk now supports its network of serviced offices, meeting facilities, and coworking spaces with tools to easily manage their workplace and improve the client experience.

With the ubiquity of mobile and the wide-use of cloud-based solutions, enterprise companies have been rapidly evolving their workplace strategy to be employee-centric and efficient. At the heart of this shift is increasing demand for short-term workspace access.

With its existing network of over 1,800 locations in 70 countries, ShareDesk provides a platform for mobile professionals to discover spaces to book work and meeting spaces by the hour, or day. This movement has fueled the rise of the flexible workspace.

“Companies are making significant investments in online collaboration tools, cloud, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and other productivity-boosting solutions, and we are perfectly position to address their ‘space’ requirements,” said Kia Rahmani, CEO and Co-Founder of ShareDesk.

As part of today’s funding announcement, Sharedesk has added new members to its Advisory Board, including Jared Simon, COO of HotelTonight, and Raul Vejar, former EVP and COO of SAP, and Sunil Rajaraman CEO of Scripted.
