Canada’s first expo based on the digital currency bitcoin lands in Toronto this April.
Next month, Canada’s largest city will play host to the Bitcoin Expo 2014, the first of what is designed to be an annuel event run by the Bitcoin Alliance of Canada. The three-day event will pull together leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and stakeholders to gather and discuss strategies to build bitcoin organizations at the local, national, and international levels.
“Emerging industries face numerous challenges when building communities and facilitating international cooperation. The global scope of Bitcoin and localized impact of regulations, laws, cultures, governments, and institutions are just some obstacles that become relevant during this building phase,” explain organizers. These burdensome complications make implementation of structure, process, and communication difficult to coordinate and construct in an efficient manner at all levels—a problem that the Expo aims to tackle head-on.
Tickets to the event come in four tiers:
Free – Bitcoin tutorial only, on Saturday morning (200 seats available)
Standard – Access to Saturday and Sunday sessions
Premium – Friday banquet dinner plus access to all standard sessions
VIP – Access to private events, including fireside sessions, Friday banquet dinner, and standard sessions
