Popcornflix’s Free Streaming Movie Service Expands in Canada

Popcornflix and FrightPix, free streaming movie services from Screen Media Ventures, have launched an expansion of their platforms in Canada.

Free Popcornflix movies are now available to Canadians on the new Popcornflix channel for Google TV, in addition to existing access via the web, iOS and Android mobile devices, Samsung CTVs and Roku.

The service offers hundreds of free full-length movies, including award-winning titles featuring A-list actors.

“We’re seeing a tremendous growth in demand for our service as the new generation of movie fans want instant access to watch films on their own schedule,” said David Fannon, Executive Vice President at Popcornflix.

“Because of our expansive film library we’re one of the few streaming services uniquely positioned to deliver great movies for free in multiple markets, and we plan to continue our aggressive expansion into numerous additional markets in the coming months,” he added.

The platform is ad-supported; each film includes pre-roll, spot ads and banner ads that offer content.
