A US court has sided with BlackBerry and halted all sales of Typo’s iPhone keyboard add-on.
US District Court Judge William Orrick granted BlackBerry’s request for a preliminary injunction against Typo. This mens the iPhone case can’t be sold while the court battle rages on.
Typo was cofounded by television personality Ryan Seacrest late last year and debuted at CES. The company started taking preorders in January. The case costs $99, affixes itself to an iPhone, and grants the Apple device a Bluetooth keyboard that looks and functions extremely similarly to BlackBerry’s.
At this point, the courts are suggesting Typo winning the case is unlikely.
