London’s Big Viking Games has saved the players of YoVille.

Viking sold the virtual world game, launched in 2008, to Zynga a few years ago—but this year Zynga announced it would shutter the game. Instead, Viking, bought the game back, returning it to Canada and renaming it YoWorld. The deal allegedly took months to negotiate.

In YoVille, which is a “freemium” game, players create avatars, build and decorate homes, work jobs, and interact with other avatars.

Big Viking Games says if the deal is successful—the ink is slated to dry on May 11—it plans to hire more staff to the support the game.
