Today BDC and the Canadian Business Youth Foundation today named Ryan Jackson of Medicine Hat, Alberta as the inaugural winner of the 2014 BDC Mentorship Award.

While doing so, the CBYF also changed its name.

The move was quiet, but the CBYF is now known as Futurpreneur Canada. The name change aims to “reflect the aspirations of the young business owners supported today and into the future,” according to the organization. Futurpreneur says it’s helped more than 6,500 entrepreneurs create over 5,000 companies and more than 26,000 jobs.
