CASL came into effect this month and already the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has been slammed with more than 12,000 complaints.

New complaints are being filed at a rate of up to 2,000 per day, according to The Globe and Mail, who notes that the law “is set up in a way that makes it expensive for businesses to comply, and that it does not affect the worst spam offenders,” but adds that the CRTC “predicted the response would be large in the early days.”
