Hootsuite announced today that they have acquired Brightkit, a solution for creating customized social marketing campaigns with high-impact results.
Brightkit was originally named Memelabs and was recently part of Vancouver incubator Invoke Labs.
Hootsuite CEO and co-founder Ryan Holmes was also a co-founder of Memelabs.
Brightkit has worked with 100+ customers including Kentucky Derby, Dwell, Cassidy Turley and American Media. Hootsuite’s new offering Hootsuite Campaigns is built on the Brightkit solution.
To confuse you even more, Brightkit was actually the original name of Hootsuite.
As part of today’s announcement Hootsuite shared that it has surpassed 10 million users in 175+ countries and is adding new global enterprise customers as well as executive hires.
New enterprise customers span a broad range of industries and include Telekom Malaysia, Singapore Press Holdings, Brooklyn Public Library, and Cambridge University Press.
Hootsuite is now over 600 employees globally and currently hiring on Techvibes. “We’re seeing explosive growth across all regions,” says Holmes. “Our teams are focused on rolling out a number of new product offerings, have plans to open operations in Latin-America and will hire an additional 100+ roles by the end of 2014.”
