Canadian company DataGardens has been scooped by CenturyLink.
CenturyLink—which also recently acquired Savvis, Tier3, and AppFog to expand its suite of cloud products—purchased the Edmonton-based DataGardens for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition follows a partnership between the two firms established earlier this year. CenturyLink will use DataGardens’ technology to bolster its cloud-to-cloud disaster recovery product. Forbes called the acquisition “a natural move” for CenturyLink.
DataGardens was founded in 2009 and has 15 employees.
