Dell Plans Removal of 3,000 Jobs Following EMC Acquisition

Earlier this year it was announced that Dell would acquire EMC—the largest acquisition  in technology history.

With a transaction of that scale, it’s small surprise there are some redundancies. Consequently Dell plans to cut up to 3,000 jobs after closing the deal, according to sources cited in Bloomberg.

The jobs will mostly be in the US, says Bloomberg, in areas like supply chain and administrative positions. The layoffs will come by the end of the year, the report suggests.

Even with the layoffs, the new combined company will still boast 140,000 employees.
