Wikileaks Says Julian Assange Had Internet Access Cut by State Actor

Wikileaks is claiming that Julian Assange has had internet access—currently his only means of communication with the rest of the world—severed. The organization says his internet was cut by an unidentified “state actor.”

Assange is at London’s Ecuadorean embassy, where he has been claiming asylum since 2012. The transparency activist is there is avoid extradition over sexual assault allegations from Sweden, which he denies and claims is a ruse to wind him back up in the US, at which point we all know what would happen.

Wikileaks says it has activated “contingency plans” following the surprise attack. The organization has most recently been known for releasing damaging documents related to Hillary Clinton during her presidential campaign.
