Samsung says it has reached a milestone: the company has shipped five million virtual reality headsets.

Samsung Electronics America president Tim Baxter made the announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.

According to Baxter, consumers have viewed more than 10 million hours of virtual reality content on Samsung Gear headsets.

The Gear VR is an entry-level headset that costs $100 and connects to Galaxy smartphones via micro USB.
