Donald Trump Leaving Android Phone Behind—And It Could End up in a Museum

As phones are concerned, Donald Trump’s is well-used. The President-elect—whose inauguration is occurring right this very moment—uses his daily to tweet and is known for being highly accessible by phone.

As he begins his presidency, however, Trump has elected to give his device up in favor for more secure communications. That said, he still plans to tweet, just a little less.

It’s not clear what Trump’s new phone will be. Barack Obama, the first cellphone-using POTUS, was given a heavily modified BlackBerry.

If curators at the Newseum have have any say, Trump’s old phone will be immortalized. The interactive museum, which promotes the five freedoms of the First Amendment, has reached out to Trump’s team about acquiring his device for its collection chronicling the evolution of electronic communication.
