Instagram Surpasses Originator Snapchat in Stories Usage

In December, Instagram carbon copied Snapchat’s signature “Stories” feature. The move has provided wise: Stories are now more popular on Instagram than on Snapchat.

Instagram revealed this week that just months after launch, more than 200 million people now use Instagram Stories daily. Snapchat, which has had Stories for years, sees around 160 million daily users of the feature.

The Facebook-owned social network also added more stuff to Stories this week, including “selfie stickers,” pinning, and a geo-stickers for new cities, including London, Madrid, and Toyko.

Instagram has more than 600 million monthly users and over 300 million daily users.
