Apple Adds Disney, Pixar Graphics to Its Video Creation App, Clips

Apple updated Clips this week with new characters and overlays.

Clips is the company’s video creation app for iOS, designed to promote content creation on the iPad, a device typically used by most for only consumption.

Included in the update is the addition of classic Disney and Pixar characters in the form of animated overlays, such as Donald Duck and Woody.

Beyond the Disney content, Apple added its own overlays and posts that “feature dramatic graphics, beautifully rendered backgrounds and customizable animated text.”

“Clips gives iPhone and iPad users a new way to express themselves through video, and it’s incredibly easy to use,” Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Apps Product Marketing, said in March. “The effects, filters and amazing Live Titles we’ve designed for Clips let anyone make great-looking, easily shareable videos with just a few taps.”

Apple added that “usability improvements” were made to the app, which is available as a free download from the App Store.
